JERRYNCUTCHENS

About Me

At an early age I had a keen interest in sports, technology and marketing. Through the years I have enjoyed playing and dabbling in all three of these areas of interest.

Bio

In the Beginning

I was born in Tampa, Florida and raised in Central Florida, specifically Apopka, Florida also known as the Indoor Foliage Capital of the World. Playing sports as a youngster are some of my earliest and fondest memories. In 1977, the Atari 2600 was launched and I fell in love at first touch. The ability to play football, baseball and golf on the Atari launched my love of technologies.

My first personal computer in 1982 was a Timex Sinclair 1000 with internal RAM of 2K where I spent countless hours inputting code and saving it onto a Radio Shack tape drive whereby expanding memory to 16K. The programs usually consisted of nothing more than a moon lander taking off and returning to the moon's surface. The years leading up to and through high school, my love of sports and technologies continued to grow considering I was playing soccer, golf, tennis, cross country, basketball, baseball and the arcade age was in full force.

Getting Started

After graduating from Apopka High School in 1988, I attended Florida State University and transferred to and graduated from Illinois State University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. That same year I acquired a Compaq Presario CDS 520 all-in-one personal computer running 66MHz Intel i486DX and 32Mb RAM and Windows 3.1. This little machine of wonder could connect to the the World Wide Web at a blazing U.S. Robotics driven 56 kbit/s downstream and proved to be the official start of my love for graphic design. By 1997, using this all-in-one computer and the internet service Angelfire, I had built my first websites.

Early Career

In 1999, I began working at Convergys Corporation providing technical support for Dell and Gateway Computers. By 2001, I was guiding the call center of 300+ technical support representatives as the Call Center Operations Manager. I greatly enjoyed being part of the Convergys Team but I desired a position that utilized my technological experiences and my love of marketing. So, in October 2001, I joined on at the Emergency Medicine Learning and Resource Center (EMLRC) as the Director Information Technology and Marketing. For the next 12 years I was able to grow in the field of marketing, sales and graphic design while also serving the technological needs of the organization. In addition to working at EMLRC, in 2007 various companies discovered me by "word of mouth" and hired me to help with their marketing and information technology needs, so I launched Cutchens Marketing & Design.

Current Career

In 2012, I set out to dedicate my full resources to Cutchens Marketing & Design and decided to change the company name to Carina Marketing.
